Wisconsin 3 Big Family Care MCO's Become One

In response to Long Term Care System reform changes described in the 2015 State Budget 3 Wisconsin Family Care MCO's will become one.  The Managed Care Organizations (MCO's) administer the Medicaid benefit for Wisconsin individual's enrolled in the Family Care Program. The Wisconsin 2015 State Budget through The Joint Finance Committee transforms Long Term Care delivery to a comprehensive medical insurance model.

The following 3 (MCO's) Managed Care Organizations have merged:

- Continu-us
- Community Care Connections
- Western Wisconsin Care

This new organization has a population of approximately 15 thousand Family Care members in about 46 Wisconsin Counties.  The new organization presented their joint management agreement to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance. 

This new organization received a favorable response from the submission of their joint management agreement.  Plans for Continu-us , Community Care Connections, and Western Wisconsin Care to become one will go forward. 

Change is the new norm with Wisconsin Long Term Care delivery.  The folding of 3 large Managed Care Organizations in to one is secondary to Long Term Care System reforms defined in the passage of the 2015 State Budget.
